What does a Ritualist do?
Yesterday I was thinking about making a Ritualist, they do look pretty cool afterall ,and here we are today,me all excited to creat one But then I thought, wth a Ritualist does? What build Im gonna run? What is this class used for?Except for healing and Spirit Spamming thats the only thing I know about them...
So the question is,what role do Ritualist take? What are the common builds? How well they do in AB(im a big ABer),is it worth spending time on a Ritualist?
-Kyosuki(maybe future Ritualist fanatic)

All or almost all of your answers can at http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/s...php?t=10245690
All I can add is that the ritualist is one of a few professions that supports their party through party wide heals (very little prot) and buffs any melee attackers via weapon spells. Some people also say that a paragon is one who supports their party but they use different mechanics and offer better prot than ritualists. ("Save Yourselves!")

ritualists do very well as support healers, single target dmg, melee buffing/support caster, and spirit spammer.
If your goal is to have fun and be efficient as well, i suggest making a warrior buffer with support or channeling magic spirit spammer.
Using a secondary monk, you can bring Offering of Spirit, Strength of Honor, Splinter Weapon, and Judges Insight to make your fellow warriors dish real big damage. You can even bring Protective was Kaoli and weapon of warding for support healing/prot.
You could also bring a rit with all damage spirits like, pain, vampirism, wanderlust, bloodsong, etc... Bring the luxon/kurzick skill that draws ur spirits so you can use them for multiple fights. This build puts out a bunch of damage and also helps by tanking damage when enemies attack the spirits rather than members of the party... which inevitably lessons pressure on your monks.

And then your spirits die and you have no damage. The point of [Summon Spirits] is to move them out of harm's way :P
Edit: Oh, and don't forget to take [Signet of Ghostly Might] and [Painful Bond] if you plan on running a build like this. Imo, they synergize really nicely, and allow nice AoE damage.
p.s. Every "damage" Ritualist should pack [Splinter Weapon].

You throw around weapon spells and laugh at people who can't remove them and if you start getting interrupted you bring a skill to prevent that.
WoW keeps balance I guess.
Besides party support and spirit spamming to irritate other teams...and irritate other teams I guess they actually do great aoe damage but if you're going to splinter+barrage just run a ranger imo.
No [Ancestors' Rage] or [Rend Enchantments]? Oh whoops sorry about that last one...

1. Please help us to help you
Simply posting "Please tell me how to play <Profession>!" is an extremely vague query, and will more often than not be closed. If you have a query regarding a profession, please narrow that query down, and ask a more specific question. An example might be "Please can someone help me decide which form of Condition removal is most appropriate for my build?" - remember to post your build, and give us as much information about where you're trying to play.

Please read the stickied guides before posting. Celestial Beaver has written an excellent guide to ritualists which has been linked to already in this thread. When you have specific questions, feel free to ask.
